Saturday, April 5 - Sunday, April 6, 2008

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reliant Park, Hall B

The City of Houston and Gulf Coast Green present the first Houston Green Expo: Sustainable Energy and Green Building Consumer Event exclusively featuring certified green products and building materials, renewable energy, energy efficiency tips, and green vehicles.  FREE ADMISSION.

This is your chance to view and purchase green products.  The products displayed make economic sense, strengthen the environment and make us less dependent on foreign energy supplies.  Join Mayor Bill White, Saturday, April 5 at 10 a.m. for the keynote address, followed by David Freeman who will discuss energy independence and Joe Romm who will discuss climate change.

Five themes are featured at the expo:
.    Green Building
.    Energy Efficiency
.    Renewable Energy
.    Alternative Transportation
.    iGreen- the Gulf Coast Youth initiative

Join us at the Houston Green Expo for your chance to win one of 12 roundtrip flights donated by Continental Airlines, who will also be offsetting the carbon emissions from these donated flights by funding projects dedicated to reforestation, renewable energy and energy conservation.

Leading sponsors include: Walmart, Sam's Club, Comcast. Other sponsors include: BP Americas, CenterPoint Energy, ConocoPhillips, Continental Airlines, KBR, Reliant, Shell, Valero and WasteManagement.

Tell your friends about this important community event.  To learn more you can also visit www.houstongreenexpo.org.

While admission is free to the public, we encourage everyone to ride Metro to reduce emissions and avoid the $8 parking fees around the park.

GreenRide, a web-based, easy to use rideshare program, is available FREE to Expo attendees!  Registration is quick and easy and can be done prior to the event online at http://www.gulfcoastgreen.greenride.com/.
